Entry requirements

These admission regulations apply to all applicants to the Master of Information Systems at NITH (full time, part-time and single courses of the programme). 

Admission criteria

• Admission requires a Bachelor's degree in related disciplines such as IT, management, economics, e-business, or marketing. 80 ECTS from the Bachelor's degree should be in a relevant field to the Master’s degree.
• Admission requires a minimum of grade C average in the Bachelor’s degree.
• Admission requires good language skills, in terms of speaking and writing English fluently. Non-Scandinavian applicants needs Toeffl (98) or IELTS (6.5) score. NITH may decide to conduct an oral or written test with the applicant.
• Each applicant has to write a motivation letter with a minimum of 500 words, as part of their application.
• Applicants who lack Bachelor's degree or holds a Bachelor's degree in other disciplines, may also be considered, if the applicant can document a relevant work experience.

Applicants are evaluated individually on the documentation of educational background and/or work experience, English skills and motivation letter. 

Exceptions to admission criteria 

Applicants may be granted admission, even if they do not meet admission requirements. NITH will in these cases assess:

• Particularly relevant work experience
• Composition of the class, a healthy and productive learning environment

Applications and documentation

• NITH has continuous admission from January till September each year. All applications are processed in the same order as they are received.
• If the applicants have not yet finished their Bachelor's degree, conditional admission may be given. In these cases, documentation must be submitted by July 1st.
• July 1st each year is the deadline for submitting documentation on exams taken or practice that ends after the student has been given conditional admission. Applicants may apply for an extension of the deadline.
